Scope of national rule

This Ordinance establishes a framework for the setting of European Union ecodesign requirements for energy-related products with the aim of ensuring the free movement of such products within the internal market.

This Ordinance provides for the setting of requirements which the energy-related products covered by implementing measures must fulfil in order to be placed on the market and/or put into service. It contributes to sustainable development by increasing energy efficiency and the level of protection of the environment, while at the same time increasing the security of the energy supply.

Main requirements that the business user needs to know about

Before a product covered by implementing measures is placed on the market and/or put into service, a CE marking shall be affixed and an EU declaration of conformity issued whereby the manufacturer or its authorised representative ensures and declares that the product complies with all relevant provisions of the applicable implementing measure.

National rule

  • Documents relating to the conformity assessment and the EU declaration of conformity referred to in Article 5 of Ordinance shall be drawn up in Croatian and if necessary in one of the official languages of the institutions of the European Union.
  • The information to be supplied pursuant to Annex I, Part 2 of Ordinance to be in Croatian language and Latin script when the product reaches the end-user. Also these data, in addition to the Croatian language can be in one or more other official languages of the European Union.
